SDG School Tour

This is a school tour aimed at creating awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) 2030 among secondary school students in both government and private schools.

TCLI Stationery and Book Bank

Launched in June 2022, this program is aimed at providing FREE stationery to children in Jos and beyond who truly cannot afford to buy stationery to aid their learning. We have distributed a total of 1820 pieces of stationery distributed among learners in need.

FREE Community Library and Educational Resource Centre

In March 2022, we began setting up a free community Library and Educational Resource Center for underprivileged children to have access to books and other educational resources. It is located in the Jos North Local Government of Plateau State, Nigeria.

Period Care Pack for School Girls Campaign

Many underserved school girls miss school for 3-5 days monthly as a result of no access to adequate sanitary knowledge and materials. This campaign kicked off in May 2019 with the aim of reaching out to such underserved secondary school girls with menstrual hygiene knowledge, menstrual hygiene materials in order to equip them with knowledge on how to effectively take care of themselves during their period. They are given care packs which contain sanitary pads, roll on, bathing soap, shaving stick and a bookmark with care tips. We reached almost 700 girls between May and December 2019. The overall goal of this campaign is to keep these girls in school in support of SDG number 4.

Feet For School Campaign

This project was inspired by the realization that many underprivileged children are in school but without adequate footwear or none at all to wear to school. Of more concern is the fact that a large percentage of them trek long distances to school. This exposes them to grave dangers as they trek, play on the playground and even walk around barefooted or in slippers. This project is aimed at providing less privileged Nigerian school children especially in the Middle-Belt and North-East with hand-made sandals, shoes, and sneakers for school. The end-goal of this project is to fight illiteracy and ensure that these children remain in school. We have donated over 90 pairs of school sandals to beneficiaries so far.

Portable Library Project

This project officially kicked off in December, 2019 with the delivery of a portable/moveable bookshelf stocked with about 100 books and learning resources to the Daudu IDP camp in Benue state. The goal is to set up such libraries in underprivileged communities, IDP camps and schools without libraries.

Scholarship Drive

Under our scholarship drive, we have sponsored dozens of children in government primary and secondary schools through their education. Many of them are orphans or raised by single parents and are disadvantaged in the area of finances. We currently have scholars in Adamawa, Plateau and Nasarawa States.

Writing and Mathematics Competitions

As an organization, we believe that literacy is not just restricted to reading and spelling. TCLI intends to organize writing competitions for Nigerian children to showcase their writing skills and talents and be rewarded for excellent performances. The Math competitions would also present a platform for students to exercise their brainpower and sharpen their mathematical skills and also be rewarded for outstanding performances. We believe that these competitions will aid in boosting the literacy levels of the Nigerian child in various areas.
